Rear disc brakes for classics

Hey guys,
For those of you who aren't worried about keeping your Stang completely stock There is an easy way to upgrade to Rear discs. If you have the small bearing 8 or 9" rear end, 3 1/4" across flange, the 91-2002 Crown Vic rear discs are a direct bolt on. I just completed this on my 65 with exceptional results. I used a Fox booster, 94 Mustang disc/disc master cylinder, A spacer kit from fastmerc and complete discs, brackets and E-brake cables from a 93 Crown Vic. Very little modification. Anyone interested in more info hit me up and I would be glad to help. My conversion was less than $150 for everything.
Mike

No it wont, unfortunately the trucks had the large bearings, But the good news is the ford explorer 8.8 setup will work, it is virtually the same as the crown vic except with the larger flange.

Good info. I have to go through the brakes on my 67 so this is a good idea. Is there any junkyard finds for the front brakes other than the Granada brakes or what ever?

If you have V8 spindles there are a few front discs options. Mustang Steve offers a bracket that uses the new sn197 front discs and rotor. The rotors and calipers can be found at newtakeoff.com. I had to use granada due to having 6 cyl spindles. If you have a 67 or newer I believe the v8 and 6 cyl. spindle were the same. Also search for Ultrstang- he is out of Camden, AR and offers an Sn95 set up.
